The alumni meet 2023 was organized by alumni committee on Thursday, 8th June 2023.

Objectives-

• To reconnect with alumni
• To make them aware about recent institute level structural changes.
• Brief about Alumni committee composition
• Discuss and plan student development inputs involving alumni.

Event Description-

• Firstly Prof. Aatish Zagade extended a warm welcome to the audience and introduced the central theme of the event.He briefed about the merger of two institutes, new divisions,new team introduction and recent placement achievements.
• Dr. Anuradha Phadnis briefed about the various initiatives under IQAC, different committeees under IQAC, briefed about whole accreditation process. She appealed alumni to participate in different initiatives and also share their valuable feedback/thoughts about institute development.
• Dr.Priyanka Darekar gave brief introduction about MDP cell. Different inputs offered under MDP and also requested to share requirements from alumnis if any from their respective organizations.
• Dr.Priya Tiwari gave brief idea about industry-academic colaaboration. Also requested them to share inputs/opportunities for industrial visits and also ask them to take part in visisting sessions for students.
• Prof. Pranita Bhujbal gave brief about IGI Alumni Portal.Also brief about benefits offered under alumni portal & information about social media page. Also requested them to regiuster themselves and their friends on this portal. Portal have different institues abd IGI level news are shared on this portal. Around 5000+ peoples from different IGI institues are part of this portal,they share job opening and other important information on that portal.

Alumni’s inputs-

• Alumni’s requested to onboard alumni’s as a mentor , so that they can guide students through their MBA journey.
• Alumni’s shared their area of expertise for different inputs like SIP viva,personal interviews,group discussions,guest sessions etc.
• Alumni’s requested to select/identify few bright students , so that new inputs can be offered to them like one day with VP, Buddy alumni’s,placement assistance etc.
• Also alumni’s suggested to involve following inputs like communication skills development,business etiquates ,dressing sense, yoa/meditation,technical certifications.

On 21st September 2024, Indira Global School of Business organized an alumni panel discussion for first-year students, featuring two distinguished alumni from the 2015-2017 batch: Mr. Vishal Garje and Mr. Rushi Gokani. The session aimed to provide students with essential guidance on navigating the placement process and developing the necessary skills to secure desirable roles in the corporate world. Both alumni shared their professional journeys and practical advice on how to approach interviews, select suitable roles, and handle different stages of recruitment.

During the discussion, the alumni emphasized the importance of thoroughly understanding the placement process, including company expectations, job profiles, and growth prospects. They encouraged students to research the company in advance and align their preparation accordingly. Additionally, Mr. Garje and Mr. Gokani highlighted the significance of choosing roles that match one’s skills and long-term career aspirations instead of merely focusing on high-paying positions. They also discussed evaluating job profiles, company culture, and career growth opportunities when making decisions. The session concluded with an interactive Q&A segment where students sought advice on specific placement-related concerns.

Overall, the discussion was well-received, offering students a clearer roadmap for their placement preparation and boosting their confidence for the upcoming placement season. Mr. Vishal Garje and Mr. Rushi Gokani’s insights on preparation, perseverance, and maintaining a positive mindset left the students motivated to tackle the challenges ahead and make the most of the opportunities provided by the institution.

The IGSB Alumni Meet 2025, scheduled for 5th April, was a vibrant and memorable gathering celebrating the achievements and togetherness of the IGSB community. The event commenced with a warm welcome to alumni, including the distribution of welcome kits, followed by the dignified rendition of the National Anthem. The traditional lamp lighting ceremony and an uplifting Ganesh Vandana dance performance set an auspicious tone for the day.

The formal proceedings included were a welcome address by Dr. Virendra Tatake, Director of IGSB, and special addresses by Prof. Chetan Wakalkar, Academic Advisor at IGI, and the distinguished Chief Guest, Mr. Sangram Abhang, an alumnus from the 2011-13 batch. The program enlivened by a series of cultural performances by students, celebrating talent and diversity.

Academic excellence was recognized through the felicitation of this year’s toppers, followed by vibrant performances by alumni, further strengthening the spirit of camaraderie. An audio-visual presentation showcased the notable achievements of alumni, followed by a dedicated alumni speech, highlighting their journey and contribution.

Fun and entertainment continued with interactive faculty activities and engaging games, after which Dr. Poonam Wani, Faculty Coordinator, IGSB Alumni Cell delivered the vote of thanks. A networking lunch afterwards provided a relaxed atmosphere for reconnecting and sharing experiences. The event concluded with specialization-wise interactive sessions and a panel discussion, fostering insightful conversations and future collaborations among alumni and faculty.
